Hurricane Resistance Value

The hurrican resistant nature of concrete masonry homes was demonstrated in a dramatiac way during Hurricane Andrew which hit Dade Country, Florida, in fall of 1992, IN the opinion of many engineers and scientists who have studied the effects of Hurrican Andrew, masonry walls withstood the full force of the hurricane with little damage. ON the contrary, in many sections of the country up to 60% of the wood homes were destroyed.
